At Richard Mille, a watch has always been considered a practical accessory that should be useful and totally reliable no matter what its owner is doing. Inspired by the RM 027 tourbillon watch collection that Rafa Nadal wore on the tennis court, the RM 035 collection of 'Baby Nadal' watches has been designed with technology focused on performance and delivery. It doesn't have to be modest and uncompromising to wear.
RM 35-03 Rafael Nadal Automatic Rafael Nadal is the fourth watch in the RM 035 series and features a new winding mechanism called the "Butterfly Rotor". This patented invention gives the wearer direct control over the winding of the automatic movement. It's a whole new way to stay connected to your watch in any situation.

Grade 5 titanium baseplate and bridges
These components are manufactured in black PVD and plasma treated grade 5 titanium, giving the entire assembly high rigidity, as well as precise surface flatness, which is essential for the perfect functioning of the gear train.
The skeletonized baseplate and bridges undergo intensive and complete validation tests to optimize their resistance to compression.
Richard Mille's patented butterfly oscillating weight offers the wearer the possibility to change the geometry of the oscillating weight themselves, controlling the winding of the movement according to their lifestyle and sporting activity.
The butterfly rotor consists of two grade 5 titanium and metal weights. In the initial position, the counterweights cause a radial displacement of the center of gravity, which generates the torque required to wind the barrel. With a simple press of the button at 7 o'clock (sport mode), the gear train dedicated to the rotor deploys the two counterweights at 180°. The center of gravity then returns to the center, bringing the oscillating weight into balance, canceling its winding power and thus eliminating any overwinding of the movement.
The invention allows optimizing the winding mechanism of the movement according to needs. An ON/OFF indicator at 6 o'clock allows the owner to see the status of the rotor, whether it is activated or not.
Rotor Specifications
• Grade 5 titanium arms
• Metal weights
• Ceramic ball bearings
• Unidirectional; counterclockwise winding direction
The pusher at 2 o'clock is similar to a car's gearbox, allowing winding, neutral and manual setting functions to be selected with a single touch. The hand at 2 o'clock shows the selected function.
This type of balance represents the pinnacle of innovation. It guarantees greater reliability under shock and during movement assembly and disassembly, resulting in better timekeeping results over time.
Thanks to the 4 small adjustable weights located directly on the balance, the regulator index is eliminated, allowing for more accurate and repeatable adjustments.

Carbon TPT® and Quartz TPT® Cases
Available in two versions – blue quartz TPT® with white quartz TPT® strap or white quartz TPT® and carbon fiber TPT® with carbon TPT® strap – this model features the same concave grooves as the RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal. groove.
Carbon TPT® and Quartz TPT® are exclusive materials with a unique look. Their extraordinary surfaces display elegant striations because they are composed of layers of parallel filaments obtained by splitting carbon fiber or silica threads.
The layers, with a maximum thickness of 45 microns, are impregnated with resin and then woven on a special machine that changes the weft direction by 45° between the layers. These materials are heated to 120°C under a pressure of 6 bar and are then ready to be processed on the CNC machines in the Richard Mille case factory.
The case is water resistant to 50 meters, ensured by two nitrile O-ring seals. The case is assembled with 20 spline screws in grade 5 titanium and wear-resistant washers in 316L stainless steel.
Skeletonized hands point to flanges, also made of microblasted grade 5 titanium, embellished with the numerals 3, 6, 9 and 12, which slope inward to create depth. The elegant look powerfully highlights the technical aspect of the RM 35-03 Rafael Nadal.
